The News Bullies

Now, just hear me out on this...
What information in today's media does not potentially offend someone?!
Yesterday, WBAL-tv morning news, had a segment about children and adults who may have been overexposed or inaccurately diagnosed to a food allergy. I can't even begin to think of how many people probably felt a certain way. Especially, those falsely diagnosing people "DOCTORS". Any hoot, America has grown up to be the most sensitive, yet hypocritical country in the world. However, we are the most bullied by our media. Today's media outlets hide behind the first amendment (what a joke that came to be), and say/air/print whatever they want. But, when you think about the information that they stress as important, is also the most controversial. They LOVE public uprisings about what they dish out to us. We are the media's playground.

School shootings, celebrities saying racial slurs, company betrayals... have you noticed that the ones that were directly affected by the situation are not even 'newsworthy'. The Don Imaus's and the Seung-Hui Cho's, recieve so much attention from the distress that they may have caused others that you have to question whose side the media is on. People everywhere were either upset or intrigued by the media's role in these two cases, but overall the question lies, when is it okay to air or write potentially sensitive information? My answer to this is; when it comes to the protection of our houselhold and well-being I want it ALL. "CNN, MSNBC, WBAL, and dare I say, FOX News, please give me all the 411 to help me keep, or possibly lose my sanity!"
