Okay, so today in my Newswritting II class, we had to interview one of our fellow peers, to practice using the ‘Either, Or Questions’ technique. So, I had the pleasure to interview, J. Weaver, a junior hailing from Baltimore, MD. And as a fellow English major, I definitely gave him 10 brownie points. With his laid back attitude and his smooth radio voice, the interview was very entertaining. The questions were random, but I definitely was able to tap into his personality. The only issue was that we had to do the interview over because of my constant allure with technical difficulties :o)MP3 Hosting Service Provided by mp3Upload.ca
Interveiw Q's:
1. Green Apples or Red Apples?
2. Oprah or Harpo?
3. The NFL or The NBA?
4. Sheila Dixon's shoe incident or George W. Bush's shoe incident?
5. Fantasia, the singer or Fantasis, the movie?
6. A bailout or getting bailed out?
7. The US Government or the SGA Government?
8. Stranded in Cuba or Stranded w/ Cuba Gooding, Jr.?
9. Bill Clinton or George Clinton?
10. Hello or Goodbye?
'Either, Or' questions is a technique used in interviews to break the ice or to ease into a touchy subject. It's also a great way to find out weird information about people, they you probably wouldn't find out from just a basic interveiw. This technique is not just for journalist to use, it's been a simple and quirky game to pass the time, as well.
